Explanation – The Instagram And Facebook Shutdown:-
Users reported significant troubles with the platforms between 10 a.m. Eastern and noon, based on Down Detector, a website that analyzes user reports of internet interruptions. Meta claimed it had fixed an operational problem with its channels, which included Facebook, Facebook Messenger, and Instagram, following an apparent hours-long outage on Tuesday.
Following user reports of a two-hour outage, Meta announced that it had resolved the technical problem that caused the website to go down. “We fixed the issue as quickly as we could for everybody who had been affected, and we are sorry for any inconvenience,” Meta spokesman Andy Stone wrote on X.
The outage had a significant impact on users and businesses. Users were unable to access or use their favourite social media platforms, which affected their ability to communicate, share content, and connect with others. Meanwhile, businesses that rely on these platforms for marketing and advertising saw their campaigns put on hold, potentially leading to lost opportunities and a downturn in customer engagement.
On Tuesday afternoon, several users claimed that the issue had been rectified, but others continued to have problems with the platform.

Many users on X wondered if they had been hacked and tried multiple times to change their passwords to obtain access to their accounts, but were unsuccessful.
The failure occurred ahead of a due date on Wednesday for Meta and other IT titans, such as Google and Apple, to ensure compliance with the Digital Markets Act, a fresh European Union rule increasingly aimed at competition in the digital sector. The regulation requires firms to redesign certain products so smaller rivals can reach their customers.
Elon Musk, the billionaire who paid $44 billion for Twitter, seemed to welcome users to his network by sharing a screen grab of Mr Stone’s speech beside an image featuring three penguins from the film “Madagascar,” tagged with each of Meta’s brands. The penguins honoured another penguin with the X label.
